1. From the mind of George Gobel comes this contradictory quote.

“If it weren’t for electricity we’d all be watching television by candlelight.”

I love this quote because of the candlelight comment the television needs to be plugged in to watch yet there is no power for lights.

                                                                                         

2. A quote from the 44th president of the United States, Barak Obama.

“It was the labor movement that helped secure so much of what we take for granted today. The 40-hour work week, the minimum wage, family leave, health insurance, Social Security, Medicare, retirement plans. The cornerstones of the middle-class security all bear the union label.”

I agree with Obama’s comments about unions. Unions have benefited all workers and their jobs, including non-union workers. They set the bar for what employees deserve and have given us a voice to help fight for what is right.
