I was reading an Article today posted in the electrical news dated 2/14/12 about the Marvell LED dimming chip. The reason that I found an interest in this item is because I am getting ready to integrate my residence with LED lighting because it is not only cost efficient but the lighting is much brighter. And with this Dimming technology I can leave an entry way lit up and save money at the same time.

The article states that Marvell’s deep dimming single-stage AC/DC LED driver integrated circuit chip is capable of providing top notch light quality and dimming performance similar to incandescent lamps while delivering the highest dimmer compatibility and lowest component count in the industry. It is installed directly into the lighting fixtures at factory level.

There are over 150 million dimmers installed in the United States alone. Consumers and Installers will both need to eventually find solutions that will work with LED technology because incandescent lights are being eliminated over the next few years.

Marvell is posturing themselves to provide the industry with a product that address the critical issue of existing LED dimmers flickering when dimmed down to 1%. This new technology eliminates this problem with a product that can actually communicate with manufacturers light fixtures.
